Joe Jackson releases his new album “Live Music” - coming soon with earMUSIC!

Joe Jackson is one of the most unique musicians in British pop history.

Coming out of the punk musical revolution he immediately got noticed for his skill in combining pop-rock with great taste and dislike of stereotypes. In a stellar career during which he only followed what he believed was musically coherent, he started with iconic records like “Look Sharp!” and “I’m The Man” that do today still sound as if they were coming from one of the alternative rock bands that 25 years later would be considered the “new thing”. Later in his career Jackson was not afraid to mix influences from jazz, classic and latin music to his original sound (in albums like “Body And Soul” or the masterpiece “Night and Day”). Never repeating himself

and always giving his devoted fans albums where his intelligent lyrics were supported by great musical ideas Joe Jackson became one of the most respected and admired artists of our time. He constantly plays live for a fanbase that is like a “secret society” ready to follow Joe Jackson in any new musical adventure. Joe Jackson is currently working on an adventurous and exciting new studio album, dedicated to the music legacy of Duke Ellington to be released later this year on earMUSIC.

Joe Jackson went back on the road at the end of 2010, playing shows as trio (with Graham Maby on bass and Dave Houghton on drums) all over Europe. Without any new product to promote, he ended up playing a big number of sold out shows, with the usual great response from his devoted fans. As always, Joe Jackson enriched songs spanning his whole career with new arrangements, making the old songs “new”, once again. Classics like ‘Steppin’ Out’, ‘Got The Time’ or ‘A Slow Song’ but also original cover versions of some of his idols’ tunes -

David Bowie’s ‘Scary Monsters’, ‘Inbetweenies’ by Ian Dury and The Blockheads and a stunning version of The Beatles’ ‘Girl’ with Joe Jackson alone on piano and vocals. The title “Live Music” is not accidental. Even if mixed with extreme care (the sound is warm and rich) the performances you can hear on this record are exactly what happened on stage - a rare thing in an era of re-recorded live albums. Definitely, one of the best documents of Joe Jackson live, giving you the feeling to be away only a few meters from the stage. The songs are all pop masterpieces and the musicianship is spectacular.

earMUSIC’s artist of the week! Kamelot

Kamelot is one of Metal‘s most unique, influential and prestigious acts to come along in decades. The group‘s reputation among fans and media alike is marked by enthusiasm and esteem, with each of their eight studio albums to date surpassing its predecessor in terms of songwriting, production and commercial success. As one of the most difficult-to-categorize artists in the Metal scene, Kamelot are one of the few bands ready to keep the great tradition of Metal mixed with Progressive Rock influence, in the vein of acts like Queensryche or Dream Theatre. What makes Kamelot unique is the crossover with the Gothic scene.

Ready to continue their rise to the pinnacle of Metal royalty, founding guitarist Thomas Youngblood and vocalist Roy Khan are joined by spectacular drummer Casey Grillo, keyboardist Oliver Palotai, and new bassist Sean Tibbets. Throughout the recent years, their releases have achieved Top 40 chart positioning all around the world, and “Poetry For The  Poisoned” will once again raise the bar for others to follow. Kamelot will announce the “Poetry For The Poisoned” World Tour shortly.

Without doubt, this is the most ambitious Kamelot album to date. Produced by top Metal sound-wizard Sascha Paeth, “Poetry For The Poisoned” is launched with the single ‘The Great Pandemonium’,with one of the most spectacular videos filmed for a Heavy Metal band in years. “This album is by far our most diverse, fusing new ideas and elements along with the traditional Kamelot sound and style that we have established over the years.“ states Kamelot‘s guitarist Thomas Youngblood.

With “Poetry For The Poisoned” Kamelot created their most ambitious album to date. Produced by top metal sound-wizard Sascha Paeth, it’s a mix of progressive elements, modern rock, dark arts and also power metal.

“This album is by far our most diverse, fusing new ideas and elements along with the traditional Kamelot sound and style that we have established over the years.”

                                         Thomas Youngblood

“Poetry For The Poisoned“ features guest artists Simone Simons (Epica), Gus G (the incredible guitar player on the most recent Ozzy album), Björn “Speed“ Strid (Soilwork) and Jon Oliva (Savatage).

The now upcoming limited tour edition not only includes the full studio album but also a bonus CD containing a full live show that the band played at one of the biggest German metal festivals in 2010 – the Wacken Festival. Besides killers from “Poetry For The Poisoned” like ‘The Great Pandemonium’ or ‘Hunter’s Season’, Kamelot also performed some of their classics picked from their past albums.
